Whirlpool (hydrocyclone) is designed to clean the hot wort from hop trub and coagulated protein by twisting the wort at high speed, thanks to which the trub and protein under the action of centrifugal forces is collected in the form of a cone in the center of the bottom of the unit, while the pure wort merges through the lower nozzle on the edge of the bottom.
The unit is made of food grade AISI-304 stainless steel with a high degree of polishing (to a mirror finish). The welds are polished to a sufficient degree. Whirlpool is insulated with polyurethane foam and covered with an outer shell of food grade stainless steel.
Whirlpool is equipped with a steam exhaust pipe, a powerful pump for wort turbulence, an inspection hatch, internal lighting, a rotary washing ball with connection to a CIP-station.
